Mapline vs Maptive: Free Plan, Prices and Which Fits Your Maps

15 October 2026·6 min read

Mapline and Maptive both turn a spreadsheet of locations into a business map. People searching for an alternative to one usually end up comparing it with the other. The clearest differences are how they price and how far each goes beyond the map.

We checked both pricing pages on October 15, 2026. Mapline does not list prices for its paid plans, so we do not guess them. Sources are at the bottom.

TL;DR
  • →Mapline has a free Starter plan that does not expire. Its paid plans (Mapline, Pro, Enterprise) are annual and not priced on its pricing page.
  • →Maptive publishes prices: a $250 45-day pass, Pro at $1,250 a year or $110 a month, Team at $2,500 a year for five users.
  • →Mapline grows into operations: multi-vehicle route optimization, scheduling and workflow automation on its higher plans.
  • →Maptive stays a mapping and analysis tool: every plan has all of its tools, with census data at ZIP and tract level.
  • →Both import spreadsheets. Maptive caps a data set at 100,000 locations.
  • →For a free map of a US address list, the InstaMaps geocoder does it without an account.

Pricing: free plan vs published prices

Mapline's Starter plan is free and does not expire, which makes it the easier one to try. Its paid plans are Mapline, Pro and Enterprise. Mapline says it offers annual subscriptions and can run a pilot for a paid product, but its pricing page shows no prices. You get them from sales.

Maptive publishes every price except Enterprise. A 45-day pass is $250. Pro is $1,250 a year or $110 a month for one user, with more users at $750 each. Team is $2,500 a year or $220 a month for five users, with more at $500 each.

If you need a number for a budget today, Maptive gives you one. If you want to try for longer than a trial without paying, Mapline's free plan lets you.

Who each one fits

Mapline fits a team that expects to grow from maps into operations. Its feature list runs from pins, heat maps and territories to multi-route, multi-vehicle optimization with time windows, geo-optimized scheduling and workflow automations.

Maptive fits someone whose job is the map and the analysis: plotting a customer list, building territories, adding demographic data, and sharing the result. Every Maptive plan includes all of its tools, so the choice is about users and data volume.

A free map from a US address list

If you just need a list of US addresses on a map, try the free tools first. Paste or upload the list in the free batch geocoder. Every US row gets latitude, longitude and a confidence score, and the result opens as a live map you can share or download as a CSV.

For a list you keep in Google Sheets, the free InstaMaps add-on maps it in place and updates the map when the sheet changes.

InstaMaps has no demographic overlays, dashboards or workflow automation. If you need those, compare Mapline and Maptive directly.
