Who each one fits
Maptive fits a sales, marketing or operations person who has a spreadsheet and needs a clear, shareable map this week. It works in the browser, includes census data at ZIP and tract level, and handles up to 100,000 locations per data set.
Maptitude fits an analyst who needs a full GIS on the desktop: territory optimization, drive-time rings, routing, demographic reports and geographic analysis. It suits data you would rather not upload, because it runs and geocodes completely offline.
If you need both quick sharing and deep analysis, some teams use Maptitude for the analysis and a browser tool for sharing the result.
A free start from a spreadsheet
If your job is a list of US addresses that you want on a map, start free. Paste or upload the list in the free batch geocoder: every US row comes back with latitude, longitude and a confidence score, and you can open the result as a live map or download a CSV.
If the list lives in Google Sheets, the free InstaMaps add-on maps it in place and keeps the map in sync with the sheet.
InstaMaps has no demographic overlays or desktop GIS tools. When you need those, Maptive and Maptitude are the products to compare.
