In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose “Add custom connector”.

Point it at your sheet
Big lists don't need pasting. Share the Google Sheets™ file with InstaMaps (the address it gives you) and Claude passes the link: the server reads the rows, uses the coordinates already in them, and places the rest. Ask for the results back and they land as new dated columns beside their rows, with a line in an “InstaMaps runs” tab. Nothing in your sheet is overwritten.
Every answer says how sure it is
Each row comes back high, medium or low, with the reason: placed at the building, only the street, a straight line where there's no road. Rows that can't be answered come back with why, never quietly dropped, so Claude can tell you what needs a look.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how Claude connects to outside tools. Adding InstaMaps as a connector lets Claude call its location tools while it works on your request.
Yes. Sign in with Google and use up to 5,000 tool calls a day. A call counts once however many rows it carries, a whole sheet by reference is one call, checking on a long job is free, and every answer says how many calls are left. There is no API key and no billing account.
Claude on the web and desktop (as a custom connector) and Claude Code. Any app that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in can use the same address.
InstaMaps' own address index (OpenStreetMap, OpenAddresses and the UK postcode directory), its own road routing, and official registers: CQC, NHS, the Food Standards Agency, police.uk, the Environment Agency and FEMA. Every answer names its sources and their dates.
Point a tool at the sheet instead of pasting it. A list bigger than one call takes runs as a background job: Claude gets a job id at once, the results land in your sheet as each chunk finishes, and Claude can check how far it has got.
A sheet or file is read only when you point a tool at it, and written to only when you ask for results back. Rows that did not come back perfect are kept for 30 days so they can be fixed. Your Google email is your InstaMaps account.
