## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do I install InstaMaps?

Install InstaMaps from the Google™ Workspace Marketplace. Open any Google™ Sheet, click "Extensions" in the menu, search for "InstaMaps", and click "Install". No credit card required.

### What format should my address data be in?

InstaMaps works with any address format! AI automatically detects address columns—full addresses ("123 Main St, New York, NY"), split columns (Street, City, State), or even just ZIP codes. No formatting required.

### How does route planning work?

Select multiple locations on the map, click "Plan Route", and InstaMaps optimizes the visit order to minimize driving time. You'll see driving distances, durations, and turn-by-turn directions. Export the optimized route back to Google™ Sheets.

### Can I filter locations on the map?

Yes! AI automatically suggests relevant filter columns (industry, status, value, etc.). Apply filters to narrow down your territory view, then export the filtered list to a new Google™ Sheets tab.

### Is my data stored on InstaMaps servers?

No. InstaMaps does NOT store your Google™ Sheets data on our servers. All data remains in your Google™ account. Maps are generated on-demand and not cached. See our [Privacy Policy](/privacy) for details.

### Is InstaMaps free?

Yes! InstaMaps is currently FREE with no credit card required. We may introduce paid tiers in the future for advanced features, but the core Google™ Sheets mapping and routing will remain free.
