## Methodology & citation

Source: [FAA airport data (NASR), via the Bureau of Transportation Statistics](https://www.bts.gov/ntad), 2026\. Every facility the FAA lists as a heliport, at its own coordinates. Many are private or hospital pads. A few offshore pads up to 25 km out count in the nearest state. Per-capita figures use US Census Bureau 2024 population estimates.
